Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 2026

Overview

Blockit is designed with your privacy as a priority. We believe your personal data — especially how you use your phone — is nobody's business but yours. This policy explains what data the app accesses, how it's used, and what we store.

Data That Stays on Your Device

The core functionality of Blockit runs entirely on your device using Apple's built-in frameworks. The following data never leaves your iPhone:

  • Screen Time data — Usage tracking is handled by iOS Device Activity APIs. Your screen time minutes are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted to our servers.
  • Blocked app selections — The apps and websites you choose to block are stored on-device using iOS Family Controls tokens. We cannot see which apps you've selected.
  • Focus session history — Your session history, schedules, and preferences are stored locally in the app's storage.
  • Intervention data — Records of completed interventions, cooldown timers, and app open counts remain on your device.

Permissions We Request

Blockit requests the following iOS permissions to function:

  • Screen Time / Family Controls — Required to block apps and websites during focus sessions and to track device usage.
  • Camera — Used only for the optional "mirror" intervention, which shows a brief camera preview as a mindfulness exercise. No photos or video are captured or stored.
  • Motion sensors — Used for the optional "phone rotation" intervention. Sensor data is processed in real-time and not stored.

Third-Party Services

Blockit uses the following third-party services:

  • Superwall — Used for managing in-app purchases and paywall presentation. Superwall may collect anonymous usage analytics. See Superwall's privacy policy for details.

Data We Collect

We do not collect personal information, usage data, or behavioral analytics. We do not have user accounts, and we do not require an email address or any identifying information to use the app.

In the future, if we introduce optional features like leaderboards, any data sharing will be clearly opt-in, and this policy will be updated before those features launch.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third parties. Period.

Children's Privacy

Blockit is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

Data Retention

Since all data is stored locally on your device, deleting the app removes all associated data. We retain no server-side copies of your information.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
